Kuma's work includes the world-famous Bamboo House near the Great Wall of China, a structure built primarily of bamboo and glass, and the Tiffany & Co. Landscape Architecture: Kengo Kuma. Divided into four thematic areas, Urban, Life, Culture and Living, the exhibition features the works of 2013 Pritzker Architecture Prize winner, Toyo Ito, Kengo Kuma, Tadao Ando, Kenzo Tange, SANAA, and many more. Chipperfield and Kengo Kuma is very interesting, as the work of Sou Fujimoto. I am thrilled to be able to work with those at V&A at Dundee in order to give shape to their vision and to contribute meaningfully to the cultural richness of the city. My vote would be for Toyo Ito or Kengo Kuma, but then again, the jury may select someone outside Asia this year for diversity. The location selected for the museum creates the opportunity for a network of public spaces, each with a different character, to connect the old center of Dundee to the new cultural center embodied by the V&A.
